I’ve been thinking recently about communication styles, most particularly since I got a text message a couple weeks ago about communicating with others in their preferred styles.
I’d like to share with you how and why I use various styles of communication. I’m always open to learning new things and changing my preferences, and I would very much value your thoughts on this as well.
I’m a parent. I have been a high school teacher, a Sunday School teacher, an Air Force office (now retired), a brass instructor for a drum and bugle corps, and I am now the director of an all-volunteer community band. In developing websites for many years, one of the things I’ve found to be most prevalent among my clients is that they would like to be able to update their own content. They don’t want to have to pay me or someone else each time they need to add a paragraph or a photo, or when they have updates to their events, calendars, schedules, etc.
This section will be mostly (but not exclusively) about WordPress, because (a) this site is built using WordPress; and (b) even with more than 20 years of web site development experience and more than 30 years in computers, I am convinced that WordPress is the way to go for all new web sites I develop.
